Author: Robert L. Snider
He Learned a Hard Lesson
Author weaves a story of how a teenager realizes what it means to volunteer for the government
Many people like to volunteer for good causes and organizations. Would volunteering for the government be any different? One young man will soon find out in author Robert L. Snider’s It May Be True: A Teenager’s Lesson When Volunteering for the Government.
It may be a true story about a naive young man who didn’t realize what he was volunteering for. Anywhere from the training to the actual happening, and after it was over, he didn’t feel like anyone had used any of things he told them. The hardest part was having to wait so long before he could talk about it.
In this story, readers will meet Jim, a young man who has graduated from high school and is undecided what his next step in life might be. His future goal is to continue his schooling; but he eventually received his draft notice to report to his county office to register for his physical. However, he didn’t hear from the county office because apparently, his paperwork got lost in transit. So, he decided to enroll to a school in California. Eventually, his schooling was finished and during his graduation, he visited with several companies that had set up small booths with employment opportunities. He visited the Peace Corps reps and was asked to visit their office for an interview.
Whether his interview at the office is a success or not, readers will find out as they follow Jim in It May Be True: A Teenager’s Lesson When Volunteering for the Government.
